Review size and meaning together

A long recording may be worth keeping even when it is the biggest item. Play it, check that it is not your only copy and decide whether you need the full-length original. Avoid making a deletion decision from size alone.

Choose a suitable action

Keep irreplaceable originals. For a video you want in a smaller form, consider compression and compare the result before changing the source. For an accidental or unneeded recording, inspect the selection before confirming removal. Moving a copy elsewhere is useful only after you verify it opens.

Start with a short session

Review one or two large items, then return to your storage overview. Do not mix the sizes of overlapping categories into an expected savings total: one large video might also appear in a similarity group. Available on-device space and file size are not always the same, especially with optimized cloud storage.
